According to the agreement between Greek side Panetolikos and our club on Tuesday, Deybi Flores will continue his career at Vidi! Born on 16th June 1996 in San Pedro Sula, the second largest city in Honduras, the midfielder started his career with FC Motagua and was with the Vancouver Whitecaps of Canada between 2015 and 2018, playing in the US first and second divisions and on loan with his parent club.

He was a key player for Honduras' most successful team, Olympia, from 2018 to 2021, before returning to the Legion in the summer of 2021, playing for Greek top-flight side Panetolikos. In total, he has played in 91 Honduran first division, 10 MLS, 48 Greek top flight and 13 American second division matches, scoring four goals as a defensive midfielder. The new signing is a three-time Honduran champion and one-time Canadian Cup winner. He made his debut for the Honduran national team in 2015 and has played in 23 matches since then, including all four matches for his country at the 2021 Gold Cup.

"I'm very happy to be here, I think joining Vidi was the best decision I made at this stage of my career. I don't like to talk about my strengths, my style of play, I would leave that to the fans, who I would like to prove to on the pitch, with my game! I can promise you that I will do my best in all the training sessions and matches to make the team successful. Mentally and in terms of fitness, I'm in good shape, as Greece have been in the middle of the league season since mid-December, and I'm looking forward to joining the rest of the squad in the training camp," said Deybi Flores, who was asked about his career and the national team - he has clashed with several members of the Argentina national team, among others, after a tough collision with Lionel Messi in a pre-season match last September.

"I thank God that I had the chance to try my hand as a youngster outside my home country and play for Vancouver in the MLS, but I was an inexperienced player at the time, and in Greece I was a more mature and experienced player for the fans and the coaches, and I think that was reflected in my performance. The Honduras national team is of course very important to me, but I know that I have to prove myself here first if I want to be invited back. The clash you mentioned was indeed newsworthy in many places around the world, but apart from having a lot of respect for all my opponents, I am not afraid of anyone but God. Whoever I play, I will always be 100% focused on winning, I will go into the match and do everything I can to make sure my team leaves the pitch victorious" our new signing concluded with a smile.

"We had a clear objective to sign a defensive midfielder of similar character and quality, and Deybi Flores absolutely met the criteria we were looking for. He is a player of good age, he has a lot of international experience and he fits the vision we have for the team. He's a hard-working footballer who, in addition to his defensive duties, can also get in front of the opposition goal on occasion. With the arrival of Tobias and Deybi, there will be no more additions in the centre of midfield, but we will of course continue to work on reinforcements for the other positions" said Sporting Director Roland Juhász after the signing of the contract.

Deybi Flores has signed a contract valid until 31st December 2024, and fans will see him on the pitch in Vidi shirt number 12.
