The club was formed in 1941 and has enjoyed a long and successful journey since then: we became a stable NB I team after coming through the county leagues. Top three finishes came next and then in 1985, there was an unforgettable UEFA Cup run. The same joy was experienced in 2006 after the team lifted the Hungarian Cup. The league title was won in 2011, 2015 and 2018. There was also qualification to the Europa League Group stage in both 2012 and 2018.

The people of Fehervar and Szekesfehervar stood side-by-side with the teams during big successes and also when there were painful failures. Our city is not known by accident as the „Champions City”, as there are other sporting teams within the city that perform at a high level.

The Mayor or Szekesfehervar, dr. Andras Cser-Palkovics, came to us with a proposition towards the end of last year. That was to have the club and footballers proudly wear the badge of the city just like other sporting clubs. The management of the club agrees with this and these steps will help tighten the relationship between the city and the club. Therefore from the 2019/2020 season, the various teams within the club (senior, youth and women), will have the name MOL Fehervar FC on their badge and this change will come in to effect from the 1st July 2019.

The badge of the club will see only the name changed with the colours and traditional emblem remaining the same. The Vidi name will also not be disappearing and the club will continue to communicate this name within the stadium and VidiShop. The supporters will soon see the new name appearing in all areas. Naturally this will all take some time to carry out. The changes will be transferred into next season and will carry on thereafter.
